I received my Masters of Christian Counseling with professional licensure certificate from Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania in May 2014. My master's program was designed to prepare me for clinical licensure in the state of Pennsylvania, and provided tools and skills for professional counseling to meet state licensure requirements. In August 2014, I moved to Indiana, and I became fully licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in April 2021.
Although I am recently licensed, I have been working as a mental health counselor for approximately 10 years. My favorite part of the job is seeing the resilience and transformation process with each of my clients. I truly feel like this is what I have been called to do.
I have experience with a variety of presenting problems including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief, and self-esteem/identity issues. I have received post-graduate training in play therapy, trauma informed care, autism, ODD, ADD/ADHD, and Depression treatment.
As a BIPOC individual, I am also committed and passionate about breaking the stigma of mental health amongst the BIPOC population, and any other marginalized or disenfranchised group. I value being a safe space and welcome my clients to bring their cultural concerns and racial trauma to work through in sessions. My hope is that anyone that comes to see me will feel like they have a safe space to be themselves and explore the issues that are important to them.
I am committed to collaborating with you to achieve your goals and have a keen ability to assess my client's needs and build trust and rapport. For this reason, I always welcome you to let me know if I am not meeting your expectations and would like me to do something differently in your treatment. This is a collaborative effort, and my greatest desire is to come alongside you to help reach your goals! I am honored to be a part of each client’s process for healing and change, and value addressing whatever needs and goals are specific to you. My hope is that, through our work together, you find the healing that they have been wanting.
